Using ClipHeron

ClipHeron is provided by Infinity Square Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16880965), registered office 483 Green Lanes, London, N13 4BS, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it. You need no account, and you can stop using the site at any time.

Your content and your rights to it

The tools act on videos you choose from your own device. You may only process content you own or have the right to process. You are responsible for making sure that compressing, trimming, converting or extracting audio from a video doesn’t infringe anyone’s copyright, privacy or other rights, and for how you use the result. ClipHeron doesn’t receive, host, store, publish or review your content, so we cannot and do not check this for you.

ClipHeron refuses files with encrypted (DRM-protected) tracks and contains no code for removing or circumventing technical protection measures. Don’t attempt to use the site for that purpose.

Processing on your device

Processing happens in your browser, using your device’s memory, processor and video hardware. Results depend on your device, browser and the file: a job may be slow on a phone, may be refused if the file is larger than your device can safely handle, and may fail on damaged or unusual files. Keep your original files; the tools don’t modify them, but the outputs are new files created on your device and we hold no copy that could be recovered.

Free service and ads

The tools are free. Pages are funded by advertising. We don’t endorse products or services advertised on the site, and ads aren’t recommendations. We don’t accept affiliate payments for video software, and nothing on the site is advice about which product to buy.

Acceptable use

Don’t use the site in a way that breaks the law, infringes others’ rights, interferes with its operation or other visitors, attempts to gain unauthorized access, or misrepresents yourself as us. Don’t use automated means to load the site at scale, and don’t present outputs from ClipHeron as prepared, checked or endorsed by us.

Content, open source and licences

The site design, text, mascot, wordmark and our own code belong to us or our licensors. You may use the files you create with the tools for any purpose, subject to your rights in the source content. The open-source components that run in your browser, including the video engine, are used under their own licences, which are listed on the licences page together with the attribution they require; nothing in these terms restricts the rights those licences give you. The keyframe diagram in our guides may be reused under CC BY 4.0 with a link.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, and because the service is free:

• we provide the site “as is” and “as available”, without warranties that it will meet your needs or be uninterrupted or error-free;
• we aren’t liable for loss of or damage to files, for outputs that don’t meet a size, quality or compatibility expectation, or for decisions you make based on them;
• we aren’t liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profits, data or opportunity.

If you use the site as a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms don’t affect.

Changes and availability

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site, and update these terms. Changes take effect when published here, with the effective date updated. Significant changes are noted in the changelog.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, though if you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU you may also be able to bring proceedings where you live.
